Stoughton's Syttende Mai Festival celebrates Norwegian heritage over three days, May 14 through 16, 2027, timed to the weekend closest to Norway's May 17 Constitution Day. The city-wide event, organized by the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce since 1953, includes food and drink, arts and music, athletic competitions, kids' activities and a Sunday parade. Started in 1966 as the Cedarburg Fire Department's main fundraiser, this flea market and rummage sale fills Firemen's Park four times in 2026, on May 24, July 12, September 6 and October 4, from 6am to 2pm. Established by Leadership Shawano County Class of 2016, SunDrop Dayz kicks off the summer season in Shawano County, held annually on the first weekend in June. The goal was to serve as a community fundraiser to support local nonprofits, while creating a signature summer event for Shawano Country. Since the event was first hosted in 2017, we’ve been able to raise and give back over $200,000 + into our community. This has been made possible thanks to the support of The City of Shawano, Twig ’ s Beverage, Charter Aarrowcast, along with other community members and businesses that we’ve created relationships within the past several years. In 2025 alone, we were able to donate $67,558.31, with beneficiaries including: Shawano Area Humane Society, Sacred Heart, Fever Fastpitch, Shawano Jazz, Red River Riders, and Bridge the Gap. The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation runs this Fourth of July parade and festival, starting with an 11:30 am parade at Silver Spring Drive and Kent Avenue that heads to Klode Park. The park hosts food and beverages from 1 to 8 pm, kids games from 1 to 4 pm, live music, and a fireworks finale at 9:30 pm. Only authorized food vendors may sell at the festival, and they share 15 percent of gross revenue with the Foundation on the honor system after the event.
