Gather with your friends and family for the Fall Neighborhood Campout! Residents have the choice to camp at one of BCA’s sponsored campgrounds or in their own backyards. A limited number of campsites have been assigned to each campground location.
This year's Neighborhood Campout will feature even more family fun, including a rock-climbing wall, inflatables, and expanded activities in Legacy Park—all for just $15 per campsite.
Three activity wristbands will be included in the campsite fee. Additional wristbands will be available for purchase onsite for $7.
The campsite fee also includes the following supplies, which will be strategically placed throughout each camping location:
• Firewood (At least one registered camper will need to supply a portable fire pit)
• Trash toters
• Porta Johns
If campgrounds don’t meet the minimum of 10 or more registered campgrounds by Friday, September 11 at NOON, no supplies will be distributed except three activity wristbands.
The Annual Historic Fincastle Festival takes place on Saturday, September 23 from 9-4 in the Historic Town of Fincastle. It features local artists and crafters along with Revolutionary War reenactors, a petting zoo and pony rides, touch a truck, old time children's games, live music, great food and more! Heirloom Markets runs 5 to 8 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month from June through September 2026, on June 25, July 23, August 27 and September 24, rotating among three historic Dayton sites: Fort Harrison at 335 Main St., the Virginia Quilt Museum at Silver Lake Mill, and Rocktown History. Shoppers can find heirloom produce, baked goods and artisan made wares, plus a food truck supper and live entertainment.
Consistently recognized by Sunshine Artist Magazine in the Top 10 of 200 Art Shows in the country, the Neptune Festival Art and Craft Show is one of the many events during Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend. Artists and craftsmen of original work are eligible for the show, with acceptance based on a jury process. This show does not accept food products, body care, recorded music, commercially manufactured, production studio work, buy-sell, kits or imported items. There is an area of the show devoted to selected exhibitors who work with the highest degree of originality, handcrafting, and excellence. Only those artists are awards-eligible. Come celebrate the many facets of fiber the last full weekend of September. The festival is filled with opportunities and events focusing on all aspects of fiber and more! Classes on many different ways to use fiber will be offered. Cville VegFest returns to IX Park in Charlottesville on September 13, 2026, from 11 am to 4 pm. The free vegan community event features plant based food vendors, live music, speakers, children's activities and yoga.

Richmond VegFest takes place September 26, 2026, noon–6pm at Dogwood Dell in Byrd Park. The free festival features vegan food and merchandise vendors, music, speakers and cooking demonstrations. Autumn Craft Fair is September 26, 2026, noon–5pm at Strangeways Brewing in Scotts Addition, Richmond. A curated indoor/outdoor market for handmade, artist-designed, vintage and upcycled goods. The 2026 application lists September 26 and a $60 vendor fee plus transfer fees, payable after acceptance. Indoor spaces are 8x5 feet; limited outdoor 10x10 tent spaces. No food trucks, MLM/direct sales, resale or mass-produced goods, corporate brands, professional services or AI-generated work. Availability requires acceptance.
The Bowling Green Harvest Festival closes Main Street for Caroline County's largest annual event, drawing an estimated 15,000 or more attendees for food, shopping and live entertainment. Its 35th edition ran Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
The Fall Arts & Crafts Show runs October 10 and 11, 2026, at the Fredericksburg Convention Center, with hours Saturday 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm. More than 200 artisans and crafters sell handmade jewelry, home decor, fine art, woodwork, candles and textiles under one roof.
For the last 45 years, the Old Town Warrenton Fall Festival has filled the streets with thousands of attendees who browse and engage with over 160 booths showcasing a wide variety of artisans and crafters exhibiting and selling handmade jewelry, fine arts, candles, tee shirts, wood furniture and stained glass goods from tents set up on Main, Falmouth and Winchester streets.

Main Street in Historic Old Town Warrenton transforms with arts, music, crafters, strolling entertainment and festival food during the 47th Annual Old Town Warrenton Fall Festival, on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeastern United States, this event is a perfect family day, offering something for everyone.
On Fall Festival Day, this rural county seat opens its streets to a wide variety of artisans and crafters exhibiting and selling handmade jewelry, fine arts, candles, tee shirts, wood furniture and stained glass goods from tents set up on Main Street. In addition, Festival visitors will find a variety of vendors showcasing their services and community causes as well as numerous food offerings from shaved iced to BBQ providing for a full day of fun, shopping, food and entertainment for all!
Rain or shine, the event draws approximately 20,000-25,000 people.

This is one of three annual charity festivals run by the nonprofit Smithfield VA Events, held October 3, 2026 at Windsor Castle Park in downtown Smithfield, from 11am to 5pm for ages 21 and up. Two large stages and a smaller stage at the Manor House host live bands, and retail vendors are hand-crafted, artistic or event-themed businesses invited from an approved vendor list, with proceeds donated to community charities.
The Graves Mountain Apple Harvest Festival runs three weekends in October 2026, October 3 and 4, October 10 and 11, and October 17 and 18, at Graves Mountain Farm and Lodges in Syria, Virginia. Admission is $5 for adults and free for youth 15 and under, and includes live bluegrass music from 11 am to 4 pm, 29 miles of hiking and biking trails, streams and ponds, and a free nature walk.
