The 2nd Street Festival is a free annual two-day event held in the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood of Downtown Richmond, Virginia, celebrating the rich African American culture and history of the area. Now in its 38th year, the festival features three stages of live musical entertainment, a Kidz Zone, food vendors, a marketplace, Artists Row, and the Richmond Metropolitan Antique Car Club. Headliners for 2026 include DJ Jazzy Jeff on Saturday and Plunky & Oneness on Sunday.
Mountain Magic in the Fall takes place October 3, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM at Buchanan Town Park, 485 Lowe Street, Buchanan, VA. The community event includes vendors and a car and tractor show. Vendor applications are due September 18, 2026; the current fee is $30 per 10×10 space, subject to approval. Tables, tents, and electricity are not provided. Our STEM program for Culpeper County Public School fifth graders, private and homeschool families continues to grow. The program, a partnership between the Air Fest, Career Partners Inc, CCPS, and Germanna, introduces students to hands-on learning on subjects they have been talking about in classes. The 48th annual Suffolk Peanut Fest runs October 8 through 11, 2026, at Suffolk Executive Airport, 1410 Airport Road in Suffolk, Virginia, with Friday's hours running 3 to 7 pm. WarsawFest takes place October 10, 2026, from 9 AM–4 PM at Warsaw Town Park and Main Street in Warsaw, Virginia. The fall festival includes vendors and exhibitors, food, children’s activities, a car and truck show, a pageant, and a parade. The Chamber provides online and paper vendor registration. Nonmember fees are $100 for 12×12, $150 for 12×24, or $250 for food vendors; Chamber members receive a 20% discount. Spaces are reserved first come, first served, with payment due at registration. Bolt the doors and dust off the cobwebs — Monsters of Cinema is rolling into town, bringing together makers, artists, and crafters who've poured their love of all things creepy-cute into one delightfully strange market.
This isn't a horror convention. It's a celebration of the monsters who taught us that "weird" and "wonderful" are basically the same word — and the talented hands turning that love into art.
Wander through vendor booths overflowing with handmade monster-themed treasures: stitched plush cryptids, hand-painted creature art, monster-inspired jewelry, embroidery, candles, stickers, and apparel that all carry that perfect blend of spooky and adorable. Find howling werewolves, unraveling mummies, and vampires looking entirely too smug about it — all lovingly crafted by local makers. Sprinkled throughout, you'll also spot a few vintage collectibles and classic monster movie memorabilia for those hunting that perfect nostalgic find.
Cosplayers shamble, slither, and stomp through the aisles in tribute to the icons of monster movie history. Grab a bite from food vendors serving up "monstrously" good snacks, and find that one handmade piece that completes your shrine to all things strange and stitched-together.
Because monsters were never really the villains. They were the misfits, the outsiders, the ones who taught us to love things that go bump in the night.

The 38th Annual Town Point Virginia Fall Wine Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, 2026, at Town Point Park on the Downtown Norfolk waterfront. More than 25 Virginia wineries showcase over 200 wines from 11 am to 6 pm, with wine sampling ending at 4:30 pm and sales ending at 5 pm.

On the fourth Saturday of October, the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival has presented musicians, craftspeople, cooks, moonshiners, motorheads, mule jumpers, horse pullers, coon dog racers, and antique tractor buffs for a celebration of the rich heritage and traditions of the region. The 2026 festival will blend historic traditions with new experiences across campus.
