The Scandinavian Cultural Foundation of Junction City has put on this festival since 1961, gathering the community the second Thursday through Sunday every August to celebrate Scandinavian heritage. The 65th annual Junction City Scandinavian Festival runs August 13 to 16, 2026, with free admission and entertainment, and many local nonprofits take part as vendors.

The 26th Annual Cove Cherry Fair takes place at the Ascension School Grounds, with the next fair set for August 21, 2027. The day starts with a 7 a.m. pancake breakfast and community parade, followed by cherry pit spitting and pie eating contests, old fashioned games, kids' crafts, and live Americana, folk, blues and rock music from area bands.
