Rocky Ford Watermelon Day / Arkansas Valley Fair

Organizer Arkansas Valley Fair AssociationUnclaimed

Climate: Cool summers, very cold winters and low humidity, with abundant sunshine year-round. Annual precipitation of 12 inches, including 24 inches of snow a year. July averages: 93 high and 60 low. January averages: 46 high and 14 low. The literal-minded explorer Kit Carson crossed the Arkansas River at a shallow spot filled with shale and boulders and dubbed it Rocky Ford Crossing Place. The name stuck when two men traveling west with a wagon train decided to stop at the site and build a general store. The small community begun by G. W. Now, the town nestles around Highway 50, the only coast-to-coast highway in the United States. From the start, melons were the staple of Rocky Ford. Today, Rocky Ford cantaloupes and watermelo...

Vibe Artisan Markets - Denver

Organizer Vibe Artisan MarketsUnclaimed

Vibe Artisan Markets showcases today's artist and maker within a community of locals who appreciate the heart and soul that is poured into every piece. We strive to diminish the stigma of the starving artist. Vibe Artisan Markets was a great surprise! The variety of unique, high-quality goods really stood out like handcrafted leather wallets, woodwork, and even some amazing art. The atmosphere was lively with great music, and the free cocktails made it a fun place to hang out, not just shop. I picked up a custom monogrammed leather wallet and a cool piece for my office. Definitely a market worth visiting! Every time I visit Vibe Artisan Markets, it feels like a brand-new experience! They always have fresh artists and makers to discover, which keeps things exciting and unique. It’s never the same market twice, and I love finding new treasures every time I go. Such a great way to suppor...
