Ribfest Chicago takes place every summer in the Northcenter neighborhood! Celebrating 26 years of BBQ, Ribfest Chicago continues to be Chicago’s most anticipated food festival. Come enjoy the sweet smells of BBQ filling the streets of Lincoln, Damen and Irving Park Rd. Lincoln Ave. between Irving Park Rd. and Hutchinson We request a $10 suggested donation at the gate. Proceeds from the gate donations are invested right back into the Northcenter community and help support local schools and nonprofit organizations, economic development and greening efforts. The 57th Street Art Fair is a free, juried outdoor art fair in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, running along 57th Street between Woodlawn and Kenwood Avenues and on Kimbark Avenue. Held on the first full weekend of June each year, the 2026 fair marks its 80th annual edition and draws more than 20,000 visitors, with live blues music at the Buddy Guy's Legends stage. Artists exhibit their work in booths throughout the weekend and apply through Zapplication with a non-refundable jury fee.

The 25th annual Chicago Pride Fest takes place June 20 and 21, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Chicago's Northalsted neighborhood, the weekend before the city's Pride Parade. The two day street festival features live music on three stages, drag performances, the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus, a Proud Pet Parade on Sunday at noon, and more than 150 food and merchandise vendors, with a suggested $20 donation for entry.

Harmony Fest and Fall Market takes place September 19 from 2 to 8 p.m. in downtown East Moline at Runner's Park. Presented by QCAIR and East Moline Main Street, the event features dancing, music, art and vendors, along with a parade of flags representing 40 countries to celebrate the community's diversity.

There’s a special kind of excitement that fills the farm at the start of peach season. Long before sunrise, our crew heads into the orchard to begin harvesting the first peaches of the year. I rarely sleep well the night before—I’m always too eager to see that first load of fruit come in. The first pick is usually light. We begin with early cling varieties and slowly build up to larger harvests. At Eckert’s, we harvest each tree up to five times, spaced a few days apart. This approach takes more time and labor, but it’s the only way to ensure each peach is picked at the peak of ripeness. Once a peach is removed from the tree, it stops producing sugar—so the longer it can stay on the branch, the better it tastes. In those early days, our team focuses on training and precision.
