The Old Timers Day Steampunk Festival fills Van Buren's Main Street on the second weekend in May with vendors, food trucks and performers from multiple states dressed in Victorian and steampunk style, including gears, goggles and period clothing.
STREETS: The city applied for State Aid City Street funds through ArDOT and was approved for 1.87 miles of street overlay (asphalt), the project is approved for $300,000.00 (no cost to the city). COMPLETED. DEPOT: The depot is on the Historical Registry and hopes are to apply for a grant to renovate the depot in the future, when funds are available. This grant is a 50/50 matching and requires a licensed architect to prepare specs and plans/cost estimates for the project. The 66th annual Pulaski County Fair runs July 26 through August 1, 2026, under the theme "Where old friends meet." The fair includes livestock shows for beef cattle, sheep, goats and hogs, plus a tractor pull, an ATV rodeo and a parade.
Norfork's Pioneer Days takes place the third Saturday in May, kicking off with a parade at 10 am around City Hall Circle. Booths sell food, drinks, handmade crafts, jewelry, baked goods and kettle corn, while the White River Duck Race runs alongside historical reenactors firing a cannon at the Wolf House.

Old Fort Days Futurity is a five year old barrel racing futurity and super derby held each spring at Kay Rodgers Park, alongside the separately run Old Fort Days Rodeo, which marked its 93rd year in 2026. Horse entries are nominated by mail with stall reservations due by early April, and the grounds also host the Arkansas Oklahoma State Fair.
The NWA Spring Market is a biannual two-day maker event run by Live, Love, Events LLC at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Bentonville. More than 70 local artisans, crafters, and food vendors set up for a curated shopping event with free admission and parking. The 2026 edition ran May 29-30; the organizer also runs It's Fall Y'all Craft Fair, Winter Market of NWA, and a wedding expo at the same fairgrounds throughout the year.
