Yarmouth Clam Festival - A Maine Summertime Tradition Since 1965. A milestone that reflects six decades of tradition, volunteerism, and community spirit. What began in 1965 as a local clambake has grown into one of Maine’s largest free-admission festival, drawing more than 85,000 visitors each year. Behind the scenes, hundreds of volunteers work together to create a weekend full of food, entertainment, and meaningful community impact. Beyond being a weekend of free entertainment, delicious food and fun, the Yarmouth Clam Festival is a major driver of economic community support, as more than 30 local nonprofits rely on festival proceeds to sustain their programming. Yarmouth boosters use festival funds to make participation more accessible for families, covering the costs for ice time, equipment, uniforms, instruments, and much more.
