After four decades as one of West Virginia’s most cherished community traditions, Carnegie Hall has announced that this milestone year will conclude the organization’s role as host of the event. Founded in 1984 as a creative fundraiser for Carnegie Hall, TOOT quickly grew into a signature regional festival that draws thousands of visitors to downtown Lewisburg each October. For forty years, the event has showcased the best of the Greenbrier Valley—local food, live music, artisan talent, and the unmistakable spirit of community that defines the region. The West Virginia Book Festival takes place October 24, 2026, at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, 123 Capitol Street. Bridge Day is West Virginia's largest single-day festival and one of the largest extreme sports events in the world. The Pickens Maple Syrup Festival marks the local celebration of Mountain State Maple Days, held every year on the third full weekend in March. The festival features all you can eat pancake and buckwheat cake feeds using local maple syrup, sugar camp tours, wood chopping, crafters and vendors, and live entertainment at the Pickens Opera House. Since it began, the festival has only sold and served maple syrup made in West Virginia, and crafters or vendors apply by mailing an application and deposit to the festival's PO Box.

The 17th annual Ramps and Rail Festival is scheduled for April 24, 2027, in Elkins Town Square, running from 10 am to 4 pm. The Shepherdstown Community Club runs a juried handmade market on the first weekend of most months at the War Memorial Building. Local artisans sell jewelry, ceramics, fiber art, woodwork, paintings and small batch food like baked goods and preserves over Saturday and Sunday, typically 9 or 10 am into the evening one day and until mid afternoon the next. The market has grown a loyal following of Eastern Panhandle shoppers who return each month to see the same and new makers.
