The 60th Annual Oklahoma Czech Festival takes place October 2–3, 2026 in downtown Yukon, with Czech and Slovak cultural performances, food, a parade, and an arts and crafts vendor show. Craft vending is Saturday, October 3, 8 am–5 pm at 5th and Cedar, with optional Friday vending from 5–8 pm. Craft booth spaces are currently full; the official application remains available for the waitlist. Merchandise, fine arts, and crafts are prioritized. The listed base fee is $100 for a 10×10 space, with a $30 late fee after August 15. Contact the craft booth coordinator for availability and acceptance.

Get ready to don your dancing shoes because the first weekend of October transforms Yukon into a whirlwind of Czech festivities with the Oklahoma Czech Festival! It all starts with a foot-stompin’ good time at the opening of the Pivo (Beer) Garden and Carnival in downtown Yukon on Friday night. Saturday morning, the real fun begin at 8 a.m. Main Street morphs into a bustling parade route from Garth Brooks Boulevard to 3rd Street, hosting one of Oklahoma’s most epic parades at 10 a.m.! At 4 p.m., witness the crowning of the 2026-27 Oklahoma Czech-Slovak Royalty—complete with a Queen, Junior Queen, Prince, and Princess. For the grand finale, head to the Yukon Czech Hall at 205 N. Yukon Chisholm Trail Heritage Festival

In 1988, responding to requests from the Chisholm Trail Festival Planners and the Yukon Centennial Committee, J. W. Parker set out to publish his first book “All Along the Chisholm Trail”. Editor and Collaborator, Margaret Chisholm Tulp, also a renowned historian, wrote: “…J. W.’s contribution to the subsequent success of the first celebration was much more than that of valued informant…Like the cattle drivers themselves, he is tireless in his efforts to deliver, not Longhorns, but an appreciation for a part of Yukon’s heritage.” When the Chisholm Trail Historical Society was incorporated in 1990, J. W. was a founding member. He went on to publish two more books; Riders of the Chisholm Trail and Twilight of the Chisholm Trail. Until 2010, J.
