American Craft Celebration - American Craft Walk, NC - American Craft Walk How do I apply as an artist? Why is it a juried event? The organizers feel deeply about showcasing a balance of different art mediums and those that demonstrate the skills that craftsmen have honed and dedicated themselves to. Therefore a notable jury of three will review each applicant’s work and background. ACWW is Wilmington’s largest outdoor art show and sale featuring more than 100 of the region’s finest artists of handmade and homemade items. The Wilmington Riverfest’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to cancel the 2026 festival due to untenable venue logistics and public safety constraints imposed by recent municipal decisions. Rather than compromise operational integrity, the Board is redirecting resources to a 2027 return that meets its established standards for vendor and attendee experience. Since April 2026, the Board has engaged the city in good faith to address its decision to relocate the festival from Front Street. The proposed layout from the city at Brunswick and Nutt Streets presents insurmountable operational and safety barriers: Vendor access compromised : Limited entry points cannot accommodate standard delivery vehicles, forcing vendors into rejected conditions.
