The Artisan tent is the only arts and crafts show located on-site during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. With around 30 artisans featured, there is a little something for everyone, so be sure to plan your stroll through the artisan tent to take home a wonderful handcrafted souvenir to remember your trip. From a small gathering of 13 balloons in 1972, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta has grown to become the largest balloon event in the world. Held each year during the first week in October, the Balloon Fiesta now features about 600 balloons and 700 pilots. The Balloon Fiesta has not only grown in numbers of balloons and guests but in the number of unique events as well. In addition to the spectacular Mass Ascensions, the Balloon Fiesta has added the annual Balloon Glow, the Night Magic Glow™, and the Special Shape Rodeo™. These additions have grown to become guest favorites. The Rio Grande Fall Arts and Crafts Festival is held each October in Albuquerque under a large tent, timed with the balloon rally in the sky overhead. More than 200 artists take part, and the show is ranked among the Top 100 Art Festivals in the nation after more than 35 years running.

Downshift Ruidoso Oktoberfest marks its fifth year at Downshift Brewing Company's Riverside location in Midtown Ruidoso, New Mexico. The celebration features German food, beer, and entertainment on two stages, an outdoor main stage and an indoor Riverside stage, with bands including Fungi Mungle, Die Polka Schlingels and Spivey, plus contests for best dressed, stein hoisting and the chicken dance.

You can park and start at the Galisteo Community Center and get info, fun facts, and suggested routes for the studio tour. There are several studios located in the Galisteo village that are within walking distance of the Community Center (see walking areas marked on the map above). To get to the studios up in the Ranchitos and McKee road areas, we recommend driving. These are only a short distance by car, but you will find parking and you definitely don’t want to miss the views from Ranchitos!
