We’re excited to announce the ScrapFest Documentary Season 3! A repurpose-focused art festival, with a scrap metal sculpture competition, eco-art booth vendors, family activities, live music, and food! ScrapFest began as a scrap metal artwork competition, and has grown into a full art festival that focuses on up-cycled and repurposed artwork. Now, the festival has not only the scrap metal sculpture competition, but also eco-art booth artists, family activities, live music, food, a Refashion Show (showcasing garments made from scrap fabric), and a documentary series featuring artists in the competition! For the competition portion, teams get an hour to pick up to 500 lbs (or 250 lbs for the Small Piece category) of metal from Friedland Industries’ processing plant in Old Town Lansing, and then get a month to create a sculpture. Payments both application and booth fees are due at the same time with your application. Checks are the only payment form accepted. Applications for the 2027 Petoskey Art in the Park will open January 1st and run through March 5. This is a juried fine art show. No food or music vendors are accepted. The Charlevoix Venetian Festival's 2026 schedule runs from July 17 through 25, with a street parade on July 25 at 11 am and a boat parade that evening at 10 pm.
