DHDC is proud to offer a yearly outdoor market. We are o pen May-October (weather permitting!) every Saturday, 7:30-11am, in the beautiful Downtown Pavilion. We are honored to accept Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and offer a Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) match to our community. We encourage customers to check out the market on a regular basis since produce and merchandise will change often. Customers can shop for their weekly groceries, find unique gifts that are made from local artisans, enjoy musical talents from local artists, all within the market’s laid back atmosphere located at 10th and Main Streets underneath the Downtown Pavilion. Oktoberfest Hays boasts a wide range of traditional food, music, and drink, giving residents and visitors a taste of Volga German heritage during the Fort Hays State University homecoming weekend. Held at Municipal Park, t he festival includes various activities and booths that provide food, crafts, beer and, musical entertainment. Oktoberfest Hays is an annual event organized by The Volga German Centennial Association, established in 1974, which works to promote the heritage of the German immigrants in the region.
