Founded in 1977 by Lloyd & Lavoun Dyer, Tyson Wells began as an open lot in Quartzsite, Arizona. By 1978, the Sell-A-Rama was born, starting a tradition of unique desert shows. In 1995, Lavoun’s son, Kym Scott, a Fresno State business graduate, took over, expanding the business. The Tyson Wells Rock & Gem show is known for rock, gem & mineral vendors from around the world. The show is always early January and runs for 10 days. It is a great place to find gems, rocks, minerals, jewelry, faceting, precious metals, lapidary tool, equipment & supplies. The Tyson Wells Sell-A-Rama show is in late January and also runs for 10 days. Like the Rock & Gems Show, the Sell-A-Rama showcases the rock, gem, & mineral vendors and adds Art & Craft vendors also. The Quartzsite Fall Festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm on November 21, 2026, at Quartzsite Town Park, with free admission and parking. Hosted by the Town of Quartzsite and local sponsors, it has grown to draw more than 4,000 attendees for live entertainment, food and family activities alongside vendor and local business booths. Vendors need a 15 dollar special event license from the town plus a booth fee, and applications are due about a week before the event.

QIA's Craft Fair and Yard Sale brings more than 100 artisans and crafters to Quartzsite for handmade goods including jewelry, paintings, carvings, baskets, needlework, quilting, and books by local authors. The monthly market also has a separate yard-sale area.
