Delicious smoked salmon from professional smoke houses from across the state will be judged by a panel including top musical acts from the festival and local Alaskan seafood specialists including chefs, fishmongers and fishermen. The Kenai Peninsula Fair has been held in Ninilchik, Alaska every August since being established in 1951, now running for more than 73 years. The fair draws about 7,000 people for live music, pig races, a western rodeo with bull riding, a parade and the Backwoods Girl competition, with over 800 exhibits competing for ribbons.
