The Alaska Bald Eagle Festival in Haines centers on the largest gathering of bald eagles in the world, with guided trips to the Alaska Bald Eagle Preserve where more than 3000 eagles gather to feed on a late salmon run. The festival includes the Flight for Freedom eagle release, wildlife workshops and presentations, and evening entertainment, based at the American Bald Eagle Foundation museum at Second Avenue and the Haines Highway.

Beer, mead and cider enthusiasts all across the state of Alaska and into the Yukon are invited to show the skill of their craft in this competition to find the best home brews in the region! After being away for a few years, the 2024 Southeast Alaska Home Brew Competition was a great success! A total of 34 entries were recieved from across 5 states and the Yukon region, which were judged in 5 flights and 3 divisions. The following results for this BJCP registered competition were announced at the 30th Annual Craft Beer & Home Brew Festival.
