Nestled in South Central Idaho along the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway, the City of Buhl is a community of roughly 4,500 residents, located about 16 miles west of Twin Falls on Highway 30. Buhl was founded on April 17, 1906 and named after Frank H. Buhl of Sharon, Pennsylvania—a major investor in the Carey Act irrigation efforts, notably the Twin Falls South Side project, which helped transform the Magic Valley into fertile farmland in the early 20th century. Buhl is home to Buhl High School Indians, Buhl Middle School, and Popplewell Elementary School, along with a unique collection of local businesses and restaurants beloved by both locals and visitors. Each year, Buhl holds an annual Sagebrush Celebration on the 4th of July, coordinated by the Buhl Chamber of Commerce.
