About the event
“The purpose of the Patriotic Commission is to recognize, accommodate, and foster pride and patriotism among the citizens of South Windsor in our nation, our state, and our town, and demonstrate evidence thereof through the development and conduct of programs and activities as hereinafter described.” (Ordinance #118, Section 3, Dated 6-1-87; Ordinance #152, Section 3, Dated 9-22-98) The South Windsor Patriotic Commission is involved in ten events every year. On November 11 we hold a Veterans' Day ceremony at Veterans' Memorial Park. There is a guest speaker and wreaths are placed on the five monuments by Veterans. Music is provided by the high school, and a ceremonial volley is provided by the South Windsor Police Honor Guard.
