Read more about our annual events and how you can get involved! On the last Friday in June, boatnerds from all over flock to Sault Ste. Marie for an exciting lineup of maritime and community events. We hope you can join us for some of these events! Attend the Soo Locks Plaza Celebration — 2026 only! – The public is welcome to celebrate the completion of the Soo Locks Plaza Project at a brief outdoor ceremony at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 25. – It will be held in the plaza area immediately north of the main entrance gate and will include light refreshments and remarks from local dignitaries. – You do not need to be an SLVCA member to attend; no RSVPs are needed either.
