Since 1868, the Seward Community has honored and celebrated the anniversary of our United States. The first celebration was celebrated on the same town square, as today. They men “dug a well and the women sewed an American Flag. Speeches were given and a celebration was created!” This celebration was a high light of the City of Seward Centennial in 1967 and in 1976, Seward hosted the official July fourth for Nebraska’s Bicentennial celebration of the United States. The Crafts on the Square Craft Fair and the Miscellaneous Market both begin at 9 am on July 4th in Seward, Nebraska. The craft fair fills the lawn around the Seward County Courthouse with handmade item vendors, while the Miscellaneous Market spreads along 5th Street east of the craft show and near the post office on Seward Street.
The Dixon County Fair runs July 8 through 12, 2026, at the fairgrounds, 336 Maple St in Concord, Nebraska. The Dwight Czech Festival is an annual Czech heritage celebration in Dwight, Nebraska, run through the Czech Culture and Education Foundation of Nebraska. Recent editions have run Friday through Sunday in mid to late July with music, food and family friendly events, plus a Bohemian Classic Auto Show registration and live music at Pivo's Tavern. The festival is organized by the CCEFN, a registered Nebraska nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status.
The 49th annual Camp Creek Threshers Antique Machinery and Threshing Show, including a flea market, runs July 18 from 6 am to 5 pm and July 19 from 6 am to 4 pm, 2026, at 17200 Bluff Road east of Waverly, Nebraska. The showgrounds include more than a dozen historic buildings such as a schoolhouse, church, general store and blacksmith shop, plus a working corn crib and steam driven air compressor with live demonstrations.
