The best barbecue teams in the Mid-South light their grills the first weekend in May to compete in this qualifying round for the Kansas City Barbecue Society Championships. Crafters and performers from across the area converge on the Kennett Square to share their wares and their talents the second weekend in September. Bright chrome and big fenders fill Jones Park in Kennett the second weekend in September. The largest fair in the the area lights up the night sky the last weekend in September with two-dozen local food vendors on hand to satisfy just about any taste. This annual golf tournament held in October is the primary fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce.
