The Skowhegan Farmers' Market runs every Saturday from May through October, 9 am to 1 pm, at Maine Grains on the corner of Court and High Street behind Hight Chevrolet. From December through March it moves to a winter market at Boynton's Greenhouse, 144 Madison Ave, on the first and third Saturdays, 10 am to 1 pm. Shoppers can pay with SNAP, EBT, eWIC or Maine Senior Farm Share for meats, cheeses, baked goods, maple syrup and honey.

The Maine Artisan Bread Fair is one of a kind. It is a fair dedicated solely to real bread and everything associated with this most ancient and central staple. The 208th Skowhegan State Fair runs August 13 through 22, 2026, at 33 Constitution Avenue in Skowhegan, 10 days of Grandstand shows, midway rides, agricultural exhibits and fair food. It's billed as the nation's oldest consecutively running agricultural fair, dating to 1818.
