The Hutchinson Art Fair is an annual indoor art fair at the Sunflower South Building on the Kansas State Fairgrounds, run by the Hutchinson Art Center at 405 N Washington St. Started in 1962, it has grown to more than 40 artist booths from local and regional artists, with live music and kids swag bags.
The Prairie Village Art Show, celebrating its 70th year, runs June 4 through 6, 2027, at the Shops of Prairie Village, 6920 Mission Rd in Prairie Village, Kansas. Hours are 5 to 9 pm Friday, 10 am to 8 pm Saturday and 11 am to 4 pm Sunday, rain or shine. As the second oldest art show in Kansas City, it draws about 100 artists and more than 15,000 visitors over the weekend.

The Mulvane Art Fair takes place June 6 and 7, 2026, on the Washburn University campus in Topeka. City Hall offices and Lenexa Old Town Activity Center will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7. Other facilities have adjusted hours. Since 1984, the Great Lenexa BBQ Battle has brought together some of the region’s best pitmasters for one of Kansas’ longest-running barbecue competitions. What began in 1982 with just 12 teams has grown into a premier event featuring 150–200 teams competing for the title of Grand Champion. Friday night is the best time for the public to experience the BBQ Battle. Enjoy live music, kids activities, food and drinks, and a festival-style atmosphere as teams host private parties throughout the park. For the first time in 2026, guests can also enjoy free BBQ samples from five featured locations while supplies last.
