Boise’s annual Basque festival aligns with the July 31 feast day of Saint Ignatius de Loyola, or San Inazio, the Patron Saint of the Basques, which holds cultural and spiritual significance for the Basque community. Saint Ignatius, a Basque soldier who later became a priest and theologian, was born in the Basque province of Gipuzkoa in the 15th century and is known for being the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuit order). In Basque tradition, festivals often center around a saint and their feast day. While San Inazio is a secular festival, we do hold a mass to honor the Basque patron saint.

The Bannock County Fairgrounds in Downey, Idaho, host the annual Bannock County Fair and Rodeo. The Shoshone-Bannock Indian Festival brings a powwow to the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in August 2026, running Thursday through Sunday. Grand Entry ceremonies are held Thursday and Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 1 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday at 1 pm. Dancers and singers register Friday from 4 to 10 pm and Saturday from noon to 5 pm, with Blackstone of Saskatchewan, Canada, serving as host drum.

FARE Idaho's Field to Fork festival comes to the University of Idaho's Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 11 am to 3 pm. The gathering connects North Idaho farmers, ranchers, food producers, retailers and chefs, with a boxed lunch, snacks, coffee and water provided to attendees.

The 54th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair takes place August 8 and 9, 2026, in downtown Sandpoint at 2nd Avenue and Main Street. Hours run 9 am to 5 pm Saturday and 9 am to 4 pm Sunday, free to attend, with last year's event drawing more than 5,000 visitors to browse artist booths featuring ceramics, fiber art, glass, jewelry, metalwork, paintings, photography and woodwork, plus food vendors.

Franklin County Fair runs August 10 through 15, 2026, in Preston, Idaho. Highlights include truck and tractor pulls Friday at 7 pm for $15 adults and $10 kids, pig wrestling Thursday at 7 pm for $8 per person or $40 per family of six, and the Bull Bonanza finale Saturday at 7:30 pm for $10 adults and $5 kids ages 4 to 12, free for kids 3 and under.

The 57th Annual Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival takes place August 14 through 16, 2026, in Ketchum, Idaho, a mountain town home to 12 art galleries including an accredited museum.

Seated as one of the nation’s Top 20 professional rodeos and also ranked within the Top 5 large outdoor rodeos, the City of Caldwell and the CNR have made a name for themselves, and we want in on the action. Come celebrate year 101 of this epic rodeo down here on the plaza. Now you just have to decide one thing: You part of the “Rowdies” or “Civies?” (If you know, you know).

The Cassia County Fair and Rodeo runs its main events August 19 through 22, 2026, in Burley, Idaho, under the theme Rivers, Ranges and Rodeos. The Payette Lakes Fine Art & Craft Fair has brought artists to McCall, Idaho for more than 35 years. Held the third weekend of August at Gold Glove Park, the outdoor show features more than 75 artists selling log furniture, oil paintings, metalwork, stained glass, pottery and fiber arts, plus live music and food vendors under a shaded picnic area.
