For a single afternoon, a portion of Howell Mill Road and Marietta Street will become an open street (read: Block Party!) for pedestrians and cyclists. The Westside Stride/ Atlanta Streets Alive Artist & Makers Market will be situated between two sections this year; first between 8th Street and 10th Street as well as between 14th Street and 17th Street along Howell Mill Rd in the heart of West Midtown Atlanta. Westside Stride is an annual community-driven open street festival presented by the Upper Westside Improvement District. It aims to bring Atlantans together to celebrate local culture, creativity, and camaraderie and reimagine a major commercial thoroughfare in the Upper Westside district. With a diverse range of activities and entertainment, Westside Stride invites everyone to “Find their Stride” and connect with the heart of the community.

Virginia Highland Porchfest returns for its sixth year on Saturday, May 16, 2026, running from 11 am to 6 pm as neighborhood porches across Virginia Highland host live music.
