The Battle of Pea Ridge was one of the largest battles west of the Mississippi River. The park is considered one of the most pristine in the National Park System. Although we have experienced considerable growth we still hold on to our rich heritage and history of the area. A unique feature of our city is that all city streets are named after participants of the Battle of Pea Ridge. The East/West streets are named after confederate soldiers and the North/South streets are named after the union soldiers. History is truly alive in our city. Northwest Arkansas is the home of world class businesses such as Walmart and Tyson Foods. The University of Arkansas is located just a few miles South in Fayetteville.
