Queens Botanical Garden presents exhibitions created by local artists in the Visitor & Administration Building Gallery as well as outdoors throughout the Garden. On display at the Visitor & Administration Building from April 11, 2026, to October 4, 2026 In The Color of Sunlight , Sarah Field Sonnenberg explores the quiet space where beauty, memory, and emotion meet. Through layered oil paintings, women’s faces merge with flowers in a soft double-exposure style, blurring the boundary between the human body and the natural world. Inspired by poetry, particularly the work of Mary Oliver, each piece reflects shared experiences of tenderness, grief, nostalgia, and joy. Her work considers the fleeting nature of what we cherish and invites viewers to pause within that luminous, temporary space.
