Aloha kākou! It’s that time again. We’re happy to announce the return of the Merrie Monarch Hawaiian Arts & Crafts Fair April 23-26 2025, at the Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium & Butler Buildings in Hilo: E hele mai a kāko’o, please join us in showcasing and supporting over 150 of Hawaiʻi’s best artisans and crafters. "Hula is the Language of the Heart. Therefore the Heartbeat of the Hawaiian People." — Kalākaua Rex Welcome, and thank you for sharing your aloha for hula and the Hawaiian culture. The Merrie Monarch Festival is a non-profit organization that honors the legacy of King David Kalākaua, who inspired the perpetuation of our traditions, native language and arts. Our week-long festival features an internationally acclaimed hula competition, an invitational Hawaiian arts fair, hula shows, and a grand parade through Hilo town.
