The City Council enacts all legislation and general policy decisions governing Lakewood. Lakewood City Council consists of seven part-time, nonpartisan members elected every two years. He was appointed as the sixth Mayor of Lakewood by the Council in January 2026. In addition to his duties as Mayor, Bocchi represents the city on the Pierce Transit Board and on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. Mayor Bocchi was born and raised in Bellingham, Washington.
