About the event
The Heart O' Texas Academic Rodeo is the chance for 1st through 6th grade students to show off everything they've learned in school. Students can compete in any of the three events based on grade level: the Math Bee, the Spelling Bee, or the Social Studies Bee. Winners will take home cash, awards, and bragging rights. Stay updated on all things Academic Rodeo on this webpage and the Heart O' Texas Livestock & Competitive Events Facebook Page. The Math Bee is open to all 1st through 6th graders. All contestants are required to come to the Extraco Coliseum on test night. 1st through 3rd graders will have 30 minutes to complete their test, while 4th through 6th graders will have 45 minutes. Tests will be graded and awards will be given through 5th place in each grade. Ribbons and cash awards will be presented to the students at the Academic Rodeo awards ceremony. Dates & schedule
The Rodeo starts at 7:00pm every night (except Sunday, October 18) inside the Extraco Coliseum, and tickets will be available online beginning early September.
