Happy Labor Day weekend from all of us at the City of Independence! The Truman Memorial Building, Palmer Center and National Frontier Trails Museum will be closed Friday, Sept. 4, due to SantaCaliGon Days. Most City facilities will also be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day. The Independence Farmers Market offers the freshest produce, plants, jams, jellies and more. As a growers-only market, all of our produce and products are grown or made within a 100-mile radius of Independence. Our location at the Independence Uptown Market allows the market to operate nearly year-round, with a May-through-October summer season and a December-through-April winter season.
