Carolina BalloonFest, hosted by National Balloon Rally Charities, is held annually on the third weekend of October in Statesville. Billed as the second-oldest hot air balloon festival in the country, it features balloon competitions, mass ascensions and evening balloon glows, along with live music and family activities.
