Barracks Row, named for the Barracks which is the oldest POST in the Corps. Barracks Row is the historic main street located on 8th ST in Southeast, Washington DC. Barracks Row Main Street is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and promoting the historic Barracks Row commercial corridor along 8th Street SE on Capitol Hill. Our mission is to support local businesses, enhance public spaces, celebrate the corridor's unique history and culture, and create a vibrant destination for residents, workers, and visitors through economic development, community engagement, placemaking, and special events.
