About the event

The Parks Department manages nearly 1,000 acres of park land and over 20 linear miles of trails. The Auburn Farmers Market runs seasonally from June-September each year at Les Gove Park. Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation features a variety of options for kids to get out and play. The Auburn Community & Event Center features a robust Community Fitness Program with dozens of classes, open gym, and equipment and weight room. Nancy Backus, Auburn's first female mayor since its 1891 incorporation, began her mayoral term in 2014. Prior, she spent a decade as an Auburn city councilmember and 25 years as a financial manager at Boeing. Holding an accounting degree, she's a dedicated wife and mother to a high-achieving daughter who graduated from Evergreen State College.
